Mitsubishi EVO VIII

2005 AWD Turbo EVO 8

Mitsubishi EVO 8

Mitsubishi EVO VIII ok, here goes. I thought I have given up on the car race fixer upper mechanical side of me. Guess Wrong!!! I ended up selling all my other cars, race cars and toys to get a luxury 4 door and a SUV, but due to bad gas milage and gas prices going up to $3.00 per gallon, I was forced to sell my SUV and buy a 4 cylinder car. Let's see what should I buy? How about one of those Mitusbishi Evolution VIII? It is a 4 cylinder and has AWD and Turbo. All of which I am too familar with. I think of myself as a Fuel Injection, Turbo specialist so I can leave it all stock and play around with some of the freebie mods. Afterall I am all grown up now and done away with the racing part of my life right? What do you think? If you look closely at the image above it reads 500 miles on it exactly. Why would that matter to anyone? Well I consider 500 miles the breaking point for the motor. I can now open it up a little. I never realized how hard it was to not open it up for 500 miles. I figure 500 miles is nothing for the average person to drive around town, but try getting someone who raced for over 8 years and then stopped to get into this car and drive it everyday. Very tough I tell you. Till this day I still have not opened up the car yet. I figure I better put my boost gauge installed and a couple of other safety precautions before I open up the All Wheel Drive Turbo to it's full potential of 19lbs of boost and about 276HP.

EFI Certified. To make things worse, I had the opportunity to take a EFI Tuning class for aftermarket Fuel Injection Management systems. You know like Haltech, Electomotive, Autronic, AEM EMS whatever your flavor is. It's class was designed for you to choose what tool (Fuel Management System) you wanted to use and how to tune and use it properly. After that class I was hooked and ordered a Plug and Play Autronic for my car. It costed close to $2000, but it will be worth it. This Lancer will be one of the most powerful AWD Turbos in my area. I am sure there are other EVO's that are quicker then mines now cause Mine is stock for now. Let me put some miles on this car and you will see how it progresses. Keep stopping by and see my progress. Check out my HOW TO's and check out my plug and play board from Autronic. That will be the key making this car move! If you have any question about Turbos, EFI Fuel Management Systems, Chassis Dyno Tuning, let me know. If I feel like I am in a good mood I might even come out to the Chassis Dyno to help you tune your car.
